Arts United Center Theatre Technical Capabilities
General Information
Location:
The Arts United Center is located at 303 E. Main Street beside the Fort Wayne Museum of Art which sits on the corner of Main St and Lafayette St. Access is either from the front drive off of Main Street or via the drive between Lafayette and Clinton Streets on Barr Street which passes underneath the railway. Parking in the AUC lot is reserved until 6pm and vehicles without a permit are subject to towing. After 6pm parking is open to the public.
Seating:
663 Seats all on the main floor with no balcony.
Dressing Rooms:
Two large chorus rooms on the same level as the stage well lit with mirrors, toilets and showers. 2 costume racks per dressing room for chorus.
Four small principal rooms, two in each chorus room, each accommodates two artists. Smaller costume racks in private dressing rooms. Washer and dryer access in the basement. No smoking, food or drink in dressing rooms.

Orchestra Pit:
The pit is a 60'wide x 13' deep rectangle. No under-stage area when lowered to pit level. There is a small access door from the basement to pit level. Full pit depth is 18' (basement level). Access to basement storage is thru double doors.
Stage Floor:
The stage floor is 4'x8' sheets of tempered Masonite over tongue and groove pine. There are two layers of _" ply on sleepers.
Drapery:
House Curtain - Dusty Rose, manually operated, nylon/cotton rope, single purchase, operates in a guillotine fashion from DSR.
Fire Curtain - Immediately upstage of the proscenium, operates guillotine fashion by fusible links or control rope DSR.

There are 663 seats in the main seating area (6 are removable for handicapped access) and 20 portable chairs may be set up behind the last row of theatre seats for a sold out house.
Green Room:
Large comfortable lounge. Food and drink permitted. No smoking.
Loading:
Standard semi truck height dock. Smaller pick up truck height ramp.
No dock plates. Access to stage through 10' high loading doors.
Storage space in stage left wing only.
Narrow circular drive leading to loading dock will not accommodate a semi truck.
Parking:
East side of building by the Art Museum, in guest parking spaces only.
Please do not block fire lanes or fire department connections.
Unattended cars and trucks will be ticketed or towed.
Smoking:
This is a smoke free building.
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, DRINK OR SMOKING IN THE AUDITORIUM, STAGEHOUSE, BACKSTAGE OR IN DRESSING ROOMS.
