CAP Grants: Creative Alternative Programs

Essential Elements of a CAP Program
Programs as innovative and varied as the artists and youth participating in them have been funded through CAP grants. Dancers, writers, painters, sculptors, musicians, media specialists and many others have worked with at-risk youth in community centers, schools, treatment homes and youth-serving agencies. The CAP Grant Committee encourages applicants to use Arts United as a resource throughout the planning and application process.

To receive a CAP grant, program proposals must incorporate the following components:
Innovative hands-on art activities
Meaningful interaction between artists and youth
Dedicated and qualified artists and staff
Effective program evaluation plans
Commitment to at-risk youth
Collaboration between artists and organization
Thorough program planning

To be eligible for funding, the applicant must be a legally incorporated nonprofit entity of Allen County with 501(c)(3) status or have a fiscal agent to manage grant funds.
Please note that funded programs must serve at-risk youth of Allen County.
